the inspiring origin
Barcelona, 1934, on Castillejos Street, Dr. José Antonio Serrallach, recently graduated from the University of Frankfurt in chemistry, and after his time at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Boston, USA), along with his wife Montserrat Carulla, built the foundations of what would become LAINCO, S.A.
The vision was clear: to offer quality chemical products to meet the needs of the Spanish market at the time.
Based on their studies, patents and work on colloidal emulsions and lichens in the United States, they launched their first product on the market, EMULIQUEN SIMPLE.
Throughout its history, LAINCO did not limit itself to simply offering high-quality products; it also sought to diversify its offerings and expand its reach both nationally and internationally. The company allocated significant resources to research and development, which enabled it to launch other innovative products that became industry benchmarks. A notable example is the case of MERCROMINE, a solution that has left an indelible mark on the medical sector and in Spanish households, becoming a trusted benchmark.
In 1950, LAINCO took a bold step by opening a division dedicated to crop protection. This initiative not only expanded its product range, but also positioned the company as a key player in the agricultural industry, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and diversification.
Thanks to strategic agreements with leading companies in the agricultural sector, such as Rohm & Hass (USA), LAINCO became a reference in the fight against pests and diseases, distribuiting products such as DZ-78 or active ingredients such as DINOCAP.

For LAINCO, 1969 was a key moment in marking a new trajectory of growth and expansion. Moving the facilities from Barcelona to Rubí not only increased the laboratory’s manufacturing capacity but also introduced the synthesis process of new active ingredients such as METAM SODIUM and METAM POTASSIUMtwo soil disinfectants that are still considered benchmarks in the agricultural production market today
Since then, the company has continued to invest in the modernization and expansion of its facilities in order to remain at the forefront of the industry. This strategy has been essential to adapting to the changing needs of the market and to continue providing excellent products to its customers.
